Summer Camp in LA
Are you looking for a good summer camp in LA for your child or teen? If so, one option for you to consider for summer camp in LA is a summer camp with a focus on the performing arts.
Parents often ask me about workshops, classes, coaches, and summer camps in LA where their children and teens can learn more about the TV and film industry and get some training in acting.
It is hard to choose who to train with here in the LA area because there are such an an abundance of good educational and training opportunities available. There are many excellent coaches, classes, and acting schools. And no one teacher, coach, class, or program is right for everyone.
If you want to mix fun with education, then a summer camp in LA may be a good choice for your child or teen.
What better place is there than LA for a summer camp related to the TV and film industry?
For a child or teen interested in show business, attending a summer camp in LA can be a great educational and training opportunity and also a fun and exciting experience. Being near the action of Hollywood brings an extra level of excitement!
Since summer is approaching, I spent some time looking into various options for summer camp in LA for the summer of 2012.
There are many options for both sleepover/residential camps and daycamps, and it is really hard to decide on just the right camp for your child.
So, “Is there a good summer camp in LA for your child or teen?” Continue reading for more on one specific summer camp in LA.
One of the camps in the LA area, called the Young Actors Camp, appears to be an excellent choice for a summer camp in LA. It is a residential or sleepover camp.
Young Actors Camp is a good mix of fun and learning. Isn’t that what you really want a residential summer camp to be?
For a child or teen without previous acting experience, the camp can provide helpful information about the TV and film industry and provide valuable training and experience. For a more seasoned child actor, it can provide additional training and experience, and assist in putting together a good set of industry tools.
I found a number of positive reviews on this summer camp in LA from previous campers and their parents. You can check out some of those reviews here. They were also named as one of the Top 5 Summer Camps by the Travel Channel.
I spoke with the director of the camp to get additional information about their summer camp programs.
According to the camp director, “For those considering this type of immersion training, which is really what a short residential summer program is, Young Actors Camp is the most well-rounded program for a young actor transitioning and taking their first step into the film world.”
She explained that they bring top industry people to the camp to meet the campers and parents and answer the questions they have. She further noted noted that while the industry people may not remember every camper they meet, it is a chance for the parents and campers to get to know them and benefit from the information they share.
She also stated, “One of the benefits of the Young Actors Camp program is that it is a quick ‘ties’ builder. Hollywood is a small town and knowing who is doing good work is essential to making good choices in classes, self submitting headshots and resumes, and understanding trends in the casting world.”
“We are most proud of our training. EVERY class young working actors SHOULD HAVE will be on their resumes.”
As with anything, you should thoroughly check Young Actors Camp out yourself before you make a decision about whether it is the right summer camp for you and your child or teen. As with anything, you need to weigh things such as cost with the potential benefits and experiences for your child or teen before you decide!
This is a very special summer program, incorporating a variety of educational opportunities and an array of fun activities that will be memorable for every child and teen who attends. There are a variety of camp programs incorporating different activities and for varying lengths of time from one week to an entire month!
The camp director also agreed to a special deal for anyone who reads about Young Actors Camp (also known as YAC) here on my blog. Just tell them you read about Young Actors Camp on my blog, Your Young Actor, and you will get $75 off the price of any program.
For more information about Young Actors Camp, go check out the Young Actors Camp website right now. They have an excellent website with lots of information about their summer camp in LA.
To your success,

Hi Dahana,
You can have your parents check out the camp. If they plan to send you to a sleepover camp, maybe you can convice them that this is the camp you’d like to attend. Good luck!
Sincerely,
Debbie
