Have You Heard of the CARE Awards for Young Actors?

Have you heard about the CARE Awards for Young Actors?

The CARE  Awards were held last month on Sunday, March 15, at Universal Studios Hollywood.   They honored about 150 young actors.

But these awards are not like your typical red-carpet events.

What are the CARE Awards for Young Actors?

CARE stands for Child Actor Recognition Event. This event is put on by BizParentz, a non-profit group run by some parents of young actors here in the Los Angeles area.

Young actors are awarded at CARE based on scholarship, community service, and other factors in addition to acting. CARE participants must also be union members who worked professionally in the preceding year.

In order to participate in the event, young actors are required to write an essay. Parents of the child actors have to take and pass a quiz related to the acting industry.

Actor Stanley Livingston was honored this year for his career, first as a child actor  (best known as ‘Chip’ on My Three Sons), but also for his work in the entertainment industry as a director and  producer, and most recently as the creator of The Actor’s Journey for Kids.

The Actor’s Journey for Kids is an amazing 5-DVD set discussing everything you need to know about how to start and manage a young actor’s career in show business today.

The Actor’s Journey for Kids is presented by 100 entertainment-industry professionals, many of whom were successful child actors. One of the goals of The Actor’s Journey for Kids is to warn parents of possible scams as they try to start show business careers for their children.

This product is perfect for those just beginning a career in showbiz and even for those who are already working actors. It will help you to understand so much about how the entertainment industry really works.

The former child actors talk about what it was like for them to be child actors and how it affected their lives.  They also discuss the role the parents play and how parents can help keep their children happy and well-adjusted as they pursue the dream of becoming an actor.

You really need to take a look at The Actor’s Journey for Kids. These highly-recommended acting DVDs are an essential addition to the acting library for all young actors and their parents.

I’ll be discussing more about Stanley Livingston and his two DVD sets, The Actor’s Journey for Kids and The Actor’s Journey (for adult actors)  in future posts and in my newsletter.

As always, your comments and questions are welcome here!
