Well, after writing my previous post about the SAG strike, I really did not expect there to be so much debate still going on at this time. I thought we’d have moved on by now…
There are very strong proponents for each side in this debate. And there have been a lot of comments from actors on both sides — those in favor of the strike and those against it. And a lot of feathers have been getting ruffled. And I always hate to see that happen.
Unfortunately, it looks like SAG is not any closer to making a decision — it is a struggle first of whether to even hold the vote for the authorization of a possible strike or not. Of course, there will be many more decisions to come after that.
As the parent of a child actor, I am trying to stay on top of the issues. I am not sure of all the repercussions for either side, but I do understand why there are actors on both sides of the issue.
It looked the strike authorization vote was going to be postponed for a few months. I thought that sounded like a good idea — at least for the short term.
I just don’t want to see the effect a SAG strike will have on the economy, especially here in LA. There is never really a good time for a strike; but now just seems to me like a really bad time.

A strike is an ultimate measure when two parties can’t reach a unanimous decision. This kind of protest is the only variant in this case. Although it can cause irreversible processes.
